Neck Lift
Age catches up with everyone and the neck can be the first place that it shows. There are other reasons why the neck may become unsightly and a neck lift is a means by which excess skin under the jaw can be removed. The platysma muscle can be adjusted if necessary.
Is it right for you?
Well we will need to have your medical history as a preliminary to check your general health. Please be as comprehensive as possible with your information. We also need to know your expectations to ensure you have no unrealistic expectations.
What happens next?
A decision will be made on the most appropriate way to proceed and where the incisions will be placed. They will be marked. A section of the platysma may be removed then the muscle tightened.
Sutures and bandaging will be complete the job. There will certainly be soreness initially, perhaps a feeling of cold. Blankets are available and medication for any nausea. There may be some pain in the first couple of days and your doctor who will be overseeing your recovery will fully explain the timescale for your feeling back to normal. If you remember to keep your head still as much as possible in the early days, that will help. Turn round to see something; donâ??t just turn your head. As with any period after surgery, donâ??t try to do too much too soon but walking a little each day, even around a room helps.Nothing too strenuous until you are given the go ahead.
